Introduction

The Preston Chess Congress has taken place on the last weekend in November for the past 23 years. The new venue is UCLAN, the University of Central Lancashire in the Foster Building (Foster 25), see the uclan map. Post Code PR12HE.

The 2011 Congress

Preston Chess Congress 2011 will be held at the same venue Friday 4th November, to Sunday 6th November. As usual it will be a five round swiss system tournament with 4 sections depending on playing strength.We hope to have some of the gameslive on the internet There will be a bookstall provided by Chess Direct

Accommodation

There are some accommodation details on visitpreston.com. The nearest hotel to the venue is The Preston Lagacy International Hotel. If you want something cheaper, then this one which is 10-15 minutes walk away: Ashwood Hotel might be worth a try. Also there is Fishergate Guest House which is new this year - I haven't heard what it is like though. There is also a new Premier Inn
